Darol Hoffman

Darol Hoffman, Sr., 69, of Langdon, ND, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his home in Langdon.

Darol was born December 26, 1943, at Devils Lake, ND, to Daniel and Frances (Dick) Hoffman. He was raised on the family farm three miles south of Munich and graduated in the Munich High School class of 1961. He went on to Mayville State and then worked in a bank in Cavalier. Darol was united in marriage to Geraldine “Jeri” Hiltner on January 16, 1965. They made their home in Crystal where Darol owned and operated the bulk station. He then began his work as a Mechanic and Service Man on heavy equipment, until his retirement in 2001. His work took him all over, to Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and North Dakota. In the summer months, his family would join him where he was working, and he was often able to be home in the winter. Darol loved taking his family out hunting and fishing. Many wonderful memories were made hunting deer, antelope, elk, bear, pheasants, ducks and geese. He also loved to take them fishing, especially ice fishing. He loved the hunting and fishing, but mostly, he loved experiencing them with his kids and grandkids. Darol loved his family farm, he loved planting a huge garden there. He truly loved his family, they were his whole life.

Darol is survived by his wife Jeri of Langdon, ND, children: Darol (Michelle) Hoffman of Langdon, ND and their children Christopher (Koree) and Kayla ; Janelle Domres of Hatton, ND and her children Jayla (Fiance Bryan), Tara and Ryan ; Jeanne (Chuck) Walden of Portland, ND and their children Rebecca (Fiance Eric) and Megan ; Darin (Tina) Hoffman of Finley, ND and their children Jordan, Jackson and Emily, great grandchildren: Kaden, Mya, and six sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John.

SERVICES will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Monday.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
