Daniel A. Waldrop, 45, of Pembina, ND died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pembina Evangelical Free Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Vincent Cemetery, St. Vincent, MN.
Daniel A. Waldrop was born July 29, 1969, at Philadelphia, PA, to Garnet and Faith (Peterson) Waldrop. Most of his childhood was spent in Rapid River, MI and later in Humboldt, MN. After attending Northland College in Thief River Falls, MN he moved to Pembina. While in Pembina, Dan found a loving community of friends who were his extended family. Dan worked as the manager of the Corner Bar for 12 years and also worked for Gastrak. Dan served on the Pembina City Council for many years. He was recently baptized and was enthusiastic about his new church family.
He loved music and children fishing, camping and picnics. He also enjoyed computers, trivia, and animals. Dan loved his cat and his friends were a great joy to him. Most people will fondly remember him as the "Big Guy"
Survivors include his sister, Jennifer (Brian) Hanson, Hallock, MN; half brother, James (Kari) Waldrop, Smithville TN; half sister, Ethel (Jeffrey) Moser, Paulden, AZ; cousins his mom raised, Rosemary (Tom) Baker, Humboldt, MN, James Williams and Elizabeth Pitzen both of Hallock; nieces and nephews: Anthony and Amanda Boursaw, Vanessa (Tom) Burr, Spencer Kushinski, Megan and Morgan Hanson; several special cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sister, Gabrielle Boursaw; half sister, Brenda Schodtt, and a special aunt, Polly Eddleman.
