Dallas F. Shambaugh

Dallas Frederick Shambaugh was born on March 13, 1926, at St. Thomas, ND to Charles and Agnes (Halwell) Shambaugh. He grew up and attended school at Leyden, ND, and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, he married Betty Berens on March 23, 1953 in Cavalier. Dallas worked for Mayo Construction and then operated his own carpet laying business. His hobbies included watching the Minnesota Twins, playing pool, and reading western books. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Betty: daughters: Cindy Keney, Fargo, ND and Jane (Jeff) Stevenson, Cavalier; grandchildren: Jennifer Keney, Bozeman, MT; Shauna and Jason (Sara) Stevenson all of Cavalier; great-grandchildren: Dylon Stevenson; James and Jeffrey Stevenson all of Cavalier; siblings: Beth Olafson, Mountain, ND, Faye (Lester) Williams, Grafton, WI, Don Shambaugh, Grafton, ND, Charles (Jane) Shambaugh, Fargo, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: George, Keith, Dick, Scott, and Dean Shambaugh; sisters: Lorena Thom and Margaret Thom.
Dallas F. Shambaugh, 87, of Cavalier, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Cavalier Prebyterain Church, Cavalier, ND at 10:30 a.m.
