Dale E. Reck

Dale E. Reck, 73, of Neche, ND passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Dale was born September 5, 1938, at Hamilton, ND to Merle and Adeline (Trottier) Reck. He grew up in the Bathgate area and graduated from Bathgate High School in 1956. He lived and farmed in the Bathgate area with his grandfather (Trottier); farming in Bathgate for several years. In 1966, he purchased the Standard Oil Agency and began serving the Bathgate area. Soon after, Neche and Walhalla were added to his service areas and the business was soon known as Northdale Oil Company.
He married Julia Brown and later married Patricia Hardy Dalzell on April 10, 1981, at Neche.
Spending time with his grandchildren was an important part of his life and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; children: Steven Dale Reck, Devils Lake, ND, Susan Reck (Patrick Mattson), Forest River, ND, Scott (Missy) Reck, Neche,ND, Shelly (Dennis) Froom, Dominion City, Manitoba, Lisa (Andy) Smith, Apple Valley, MN, Shauna (Dennis) Erickson, Hoople, ND, Corey (Deaa) Dalzell, New Rockford, ND; 25 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Duane (Phyllis) Reck, Grand Forks, ND and Janice (Al) Owen, Borup, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents, stepson, Timothy Dalzell, and great grandson, Jackson Matthew.
