Colleen C. Gregoire

Colleen C. Gregoire, 83, of Walhalla, ND passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery in Cavalier.
Colleen Clair Flanagan was born February 20, 1932, at Crystal, ND to Patrick and Clara (Onstad) Flanagan. She grew up in Gardar, ND where she attended school, graduating from Gardar High School in 1949.
On August 14, 1950, she married Mahlon Gregoire at Crookston, MN. After their marriage she worked at the Pembina County Courthouse in Cavalier. Later they ran a gas station-restaurant in Pembina, ND, where she baked her home-made breads and rolls. In 1957, they moved to Banning, CA, where she worked at Pass Memorial Hospital and Farmers Insurance Group. She then worked for Riverside County Courthouse as a clerical supervisor until her retirement in 1983. Mahlon passed away on May 7, 1985. In 1986, she relocated to Jamestown, ND to be near her sister and family. In 1989, she moved to Walhalla, where she has resided until her passing.
With a "Twinkle in her eye she enjoyed playing the slot machines, which was a fun past-time for her. She also enjoyed playing cards. She was a people person and enjoyed visiting with others and loved to be around her family at gatherings for conversation and a good time. Colleen will be remembered by the love she gave to family and friends and the memories of her delicious weekly home-made bread, buns, and cinnamon rolls she shared with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Gregoire, Banning, CA. and longtime friend, Howard Hoff, Walhalla, ND
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughters: Joyce and Lola Mae; siblings: Laverne Flanagan, Lois Olafson, James Flanagan, Elizabeth Ann Foxen
