Clifford L. Dalzell

March 17, 1931 — October 10, 2011

Clifford Lloyd Dalzell, 80, of Walhalla, ND, passed away with his loved ones by his side on October 10, 2011, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walhalla-Park Center Presbyterian Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla.
Clifford was born March 17, 1931, to Lloyd and Myrtle (Hooey) Dalzell at the family farm in rural Walhalla. He grew up on the family farm and attended grade school at Park Center and graduated from Walhalla High School. In 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict.
On November 28, 1952, he married Odella Bjerke at Cavalier, ND. Following his discharge from the service they made their home on the family farm near Walhalla.
He owned and enjoyed flying his airplane and snow plane, played independent baseball, built race cars, rode and showed horses, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. After retirement he spent his summers at his cabin at Minaki, Ontario, and his winters in Mesa, AZ. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies at the Co-op and Walhalla Inn. He was a member of Park Center Walhalla Presbyterian Church and the Walhalla American Legion.
Survivors include his children: Kent (Lisa) Dalzell and Judy Jackson, Walhalla, ND; Lori Maloney of East Grand Forks, MN, and special friend Marjorie Johnson. Grandchildren: Christopher and Scott Jackson, Walhalla; Megan (Daniel) Lawrence, West Fargo, ND; Mandi Maloney, East Grand Forks; Jessica (Matthew) Marsh, Newberg, ND; Jill Dalzell, Langdon, ND; Richard and Brett Dalzell, Walhalla. Great-grandchildren: Emily, Bayley, and Ethan. Sister Delores McBain, Arizona, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
