Cleo Benoit, 80, of Langdon, ND passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Cleo was born February 13, 1928 at Walhalla, ND to Harvey and Leona (Cleary) Benoit.
Cleo and Edith Beauchamp were united in marriage on October 21, 1947 at Olga, ND. Cleo had a deep love of the land. They became the fourth generation to make their home on the Benoit Farmstead near Olga. Tthey were both active in their farm operation, raised their family and were members of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a trustee. Cleo and Edithââ¬â¢s family was honored by being named the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year while they were raising their children. He served as Township Supervisor for North Olga Township. Cleo was an avid hunter and a friend to everyone. They moved to Langdon in 1988 and Cleo became a resident of Maple Manor Care Center on December 21, 2004.
He is survived by his children: Darlene (Don) Gratton of Northwood, ND; Cleo Faye (Gary) Hardy of Mohall, ND; Keith (Lori) Benoit of Langdon, ND; Linda (Don) Hanel of Dickinson, ND; Vickie (James) Borho of Devils Lake, ND; John (Linda) Benoit of Langdon, ND; Jean (Harry) Lager of Wabasha, MN; Brenda (Daryl) Berg of Caledonia, ND; Brian Benoit of Walhalla, ND; Daughter-in-law Lois Benoit of Langdon, ND; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, sisters: Lenore (Leo) Beauchamp of Walhalla, ND; Ursula Hermanson, WA; Ione (Tom) Hamlet, CA, brother-in-law Oscar Beauchamp, Langdon, ND, and special cousin David (Artini) Beauchamp of Moorhead, MN, along with numerous neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Leona, wife Edith, and son Robert James Benoit.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 5 pm on Friday September 5, 2008 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND
A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00pm Friday evening at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
Services will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:30am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery of Langdon, ND.
