Clarence "Bud" Enerson passed away November 6, 2012 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier, ND where he had resided since August, 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Hamilton Cemetery.
Bud was born September 17, 1925 on the farm southeast of Hamilton to Emil and Grace (Nelson) Enerson. He attended school in Hamilton. In January, 1944 he enlisted in the Navy in Minneapolis. After his discharge he returned to Hamilton.
On December 22, 1946 Bud married Marion Erickson on her family's farm near Roseau, MN. They celebrated their 65th anniversary last December.
Following their marriage, they lived in Grand Forks where Bud worked for Kedney Warehouse later moving to Hamilton to run the Standard Oil bulk fuel delivery service. In 1952 they moved to International Falls where he worked at the paper mill. In 1953 they moved back to Hamilton as he had taken a job with Morrison Equipment.
In 1955 Bud started farming with his father. He continued to be involved with the farm through the 2011 season. Bud loved raising a crop and working on machinery. He was a good mechanic. It seemed once a piece of machinery came to the farm it never left because he managed to keep his equipment running forever. In the winters, he would either work as a mechanic or a carpenter.
Over the years Bud served on the Hamilton School Board, town council, civic club and the Hamilton Presbyterian Church Session. He was also a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
A true conservationist with a soft spot in his heart for most animals, he planted trees for both their beauty and to ensure that the birds and other wildlife had a place to call home. Of course we will all miss his Christmas fruitcakes.
Bud is survived by his wife, Marion; daughters, Rozanne (Howard) Junker, San Francisco, CA, Elaine (Myles) Martin, Carson City, NV and Jody (Gary) Sharp, Hamilton, ND; son, Norman (Lisa) Enerson, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Helen Schauer, Grand Forks, ND, Ida Belsheim, Red Bluff, CA; special brother and best friend Harvey (Rhoda) Enerson, Hamilton, ND; sisters-in-law, Inez Enerson, Cavalier, ND and Glennes Enerson, Roseburg, OR; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and his uncle and neighbor Lester (Eva) Nelson of Hamilton.
