Clara Kern

Clara Kern, 101, of Langdon, ND, passed away October 4, 2013, at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.



Clara was born September 6, 1912, to Peter H. and Margaret (Dahlke) Peters at the family farmstead in Gordon Township, near Alsen, ND. Clara attended Gordon Township #2 through the eighth grade. That fall her father sold the farm in Gordon Township and the family moved to the Sarles area where Clara attended the Sarles school. Clara met Archie Kern in 1928, and in 1932 they were married on Christmas Eve at the Calvin Church. Archie and Clara made their home in the Hannah area, where they farmed and lovingly raised their five children.

Archie and Clara Kern were sincere believers in the truth of the Bible and in their Savior, Jesus Christ, of whom the Bible speaks. They followed the teachings of Christ throughout their lives and taught & urged their children and grandchildren to do so as well. Clara is now with her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, and in accordance with the teachings of the Scriptures is also reunited with her husband Archie and her loved ones who were believers as well.

Clara is survived by her children: Marilyn (Neil) Romfo of Langdon, ND, Gary (Marlene) Kern of Rogers, MN, Myrna (Don) Opp of Hugo, MN, Paula (Dennis) Schaefer of Lindstrom, MN, Terry (Sandra) Kern of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Debbie (Randy) Ringdahl, Darla Romfo, Darrin (Becca) Romfo, Dawn Petersen, Kerry (Lisa) Kern, Kent (Lynn) Kern, Kevin Kern, Tawny (Randy) Christianson, Tricia (Chad) Gibson, Heidi (Randy) Gnadke, Shara (Kirk) Anderson, Teri (Mark) Dale, Tory (Chaz) Schaefer, Nate (Shanna) Kern, Matt (Brigid) Kern, Tim (Cheryl) Kern, Luke (Autumn) Kern and numerous great-grandchildren.



Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Archie, seven brothers and seven sisters.



Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.



Services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 2:00pm at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.



Interment will be held at the Hannah Cemetery, Hannah, ND.
