Claire Busse

Bernard "Claire" Busse age 84 of Cavalier, ND, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, October 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery.
Claire was born December 4, 1923, at Cavalier, ND to Roy and Vera (Salter) Busse. He attended grade school in the Backoo area and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1941. Then he attended Ag School in Park River, ND for one year. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunners mate. After his discharge from the service he returned to Cavalier and worked for Steve Nupdal Construction for several years.
He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W.
On November 17, 1947, he married J. Willis Bjornson at Cavalier.
Survivors include his wife, Willis; children, Mike (Linda) Busse, Cavalier, ND, Dale (Elizabeth) Busse, Sioux Falls, SD, Julee Stegman, Cavalier, ND; grandchildren, Jackie (Dwain) Earhart, Warner Robbins, GA, Ian Busse (friend, Faith Anderson), Crystal, ND, Dale Eric Busse, New Port Beach, CA, Jenni Busse and Kristina Busse both of Sioux Falls, SD, Charity Stegman and Courtney Erickson, both of Cavalier, ND; great granddaughters, Erika Lawonn, Charlize Earhart and Claire Hagen "Little Blue", his best friend Bailey the pug, brother, Dick (Doris) Busse, Sauk Rapids, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Don and John Busse, and sisters, Delores Ganyo and Jean Sigurdson.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Military Rites by the Lavern J. Thompson Post #11, Cavalier American Legion.
Casket Bearers: Tom Barrett, Todd Busse, Don Gaughner, Jerry Schroeder, Lynn Schroeder, and Tim Schroeder.
