Christine Kirby

Christine Kirby, 89, of Cavalier, ND died Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. A Scriptural Prayer Service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 11:30a.m., at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery. Christine was born July 14, 1921, in Veblen, South Dakota to Antonia "Nettie" and Wentzel Vrchota. She attended the Stanley-Hill country school and worked on the family farm and broke horses. She enjoyed her dogs, music, singing, playing cards, and going to the movies. Christine was married to William Kirby in 1966. They lived in Grafton, Cavalier, and Walhalla, North Dakota. After William passed away on May 30, 1973, Christine moved to Hannah, North Dakota until 2005 when she moved to Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier.
Survivors include her brother, August Vrchota, Georgetown, OH; sister, Adeline Butzin, Wadena, MN; Special niece, Angeline Vrchota, Ridgefield, NJ; nieces and nephews: Lorena Goroski, Argyle, MN, Irene Loessberg, Belgrade, MT, Vivian Hartman, Redwing, MN, Donna Spates, Hibbing, MN, David Butzin, Bozeman, MT, Duane Butzin - Blaine, MN, Violet Close, Hidelberg, Germany, Sandra Case, Garner, IA, Janet Hurlburt, New Richman, OH, Linda Wilson, Georgetown, OH
Preceding her in death are her parents, siblings: Mary, Wentzel, Lillian, Rudolph, and Francis.
