Chelda M. Slama, 88, of Milton, ND passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at her home near Milton.
Chelda Marie Hell was born September 8, 1926 to Isadore and Olive (Meyer) Hell at Mt. Carmel, ND. She grew up and attended school near Mt. Carmel. On June 20, 1949, Chelda and Stanford Slama were married in Mt. Carmel. They made their home near Milton and farmed for many years. Chelda helped on the farm and also worked at Osnabrock Good Samaritan Center as a nurseââ¬â¢s aide and in the laundry department.
The most important thing to Chelda was her family. She showed her love by spoiling her kids and grandkids. She loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially Blitz, and spent lots of time gardening and tending to her flowers. Chelda was an active member of the Milton Hilltoppers Senior Center, Legion Auxiliary, and St. Clothildeââ¬â¢s Altar Society in Milton until its closing.
Surviving Chelda are her husband of 65 years, Stanford, of Milton; children: David of Devils Lake, Wayne (Gayle) of Langdon, Robert of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Cheri (Steve) Stabo of Edinburg, ND; grandchildren: David Slama Jr., Reann Slama, Corey Slama, Jeremy (Heidi) Slama, Shawn Slama, Veronica (Jon) Webb, Dakota Slama, Tim (Kristin) Stabo, Evan Stabo, Chad Stabo; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Harvey (Jan) Hell and Henry (Ora) Meyer; sisters-in-law: Gladys Hell , Martha Hell and Mae McKay; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Claudia Slama; and siblings: Allen Hell, Gerald Hell, Doris Puelston, Richard Hell, and Audrey Stroeser.
Services will be held Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 Rosary and 7:00 prayer service at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday.
Interment: St. Clothildeââ¬â¢s Catholic Cemetery ââ¬â Milton, ND
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to St. Clothildeââ¬â¢s Catholic Cemetery in Milton, ND.
