Charlotte F. Syrup, 91, of Grand Forks, ND formerly of Walhalla, ND passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheatland Terrace Chapel at 4000 Valley Square in Grand Forks. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla.
Charlotte was born August 1, 1922, near Walhalla, ND to George F. and Erma M. (Gogin) Dunnigan. She grew up in the Walhalla area. Her early years were spent helping one and all in the nursing field, this caring for everyone continued on throughout her entire life in one way or another. On February 10, 1956, she married Harold Syrup in Los Angeles, CA. After their marriage they farmed in the Walhalla area, until Harold's passing on December 5, 1985. She then moved to California for a time and has resided in Grand Forks for the past seven years to be near her busy grandchildren along with the many Friends she enjoyed daily and especially on Sundays. Charlotte's inner grace has blessed us all.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and keeping up with their many activities, events and milestones, researching, watching and feeding birds, and admiring the crops as they grew throughout the year.
Survivors include her children: Charlene Babilius, Downey, CA, Steve Syrup, Grand Forks; grandchildren: Skyler and Amelia Syrup, Grand Forks; siblings: Richard (Lois) Dunnigan, Redland, CA and Elaine Olson, Bellflower, CA.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and siblings: Noreen Dunnigan, Terrance Dunnigan, Theresa Wallace, and Donna Goutermont.
