Charles Lee Wimpfheimer, age 75 of Cavalier, ND passed away on Friday in Fargo. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:00 am at Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment at Zion Cemetery, Cavalier.
Charles was born on August 19, 1935 in Akra, ND to Ben and Sophia (Austfjord) Wimpfheimer. He enjoyed playing football, basketball and track as a young man before graduating from Cavalier High School. He also played football for Concordia College. He was a sales representative for the Grand Forks Herald, and Food Service of America. He married Jean Kaercher on September 14, 1957 in Cavalier. Following his retirement, he worked at Cenex in Cavalier. Charles enjoyed coffee at the C-Store, and truly enjoyed watching the Twins games this year. He was active in the Cavalier Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder for the church. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Neil.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Fargo, ND; children, Leslie (Mitch Bjornson) Wimpfheimer of Sherak, MN., Allan (Lori) Wimpfheimer of Grand Forks, ND, Jeri (Paul Huelsman) Wimpfheimer and Ann (Dale Klein) Farmer both of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Alison Wimpfheimer, Matt Farmer, Brandon, Brittney and Ben Bjornson; sister, Colleen Johnson of Seattle, WA. Clergy: Rev. John Werth. Musical selections by: Mary Beth Olson, accompanist, Roger Hartz, soloist.
