Catherine Fickert

Catherine R. Fickert, 77, of Devils Lake, ND, and formerly of North Loma Township, Cavalier County, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Devils Lake, ND.

Catherine was born September 9, 1935 at Olga, ND, to Anthony Albert and Lena (Villeneuve) Koehmstedt. She was raised in Olga and attended school there, moved to Montana briefly, then returned to the Easby, ND area.

Catherine was united in marriage to William J. Fickert on October 10, 1955 at Langdon, ND. They made their home in North Loma Township where they farmed. They moved to Devils Lake in 2001. They were members of the Alsen Curling Club, and her favorite hobby was crocheting.

She is survived by her children: Margie (Robert) Amerine of Hatton, ND, Ronnie (Linda) Fickert of Edmore, ND, Vickie (Kenny) Peterson of Grand Forks, ND and Jamie Fickert of Devils Lake, ND; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Zella Keuneman of Rolla, ND, Helen Hamilton of Asotin, WA; brothers: Wallace Koehmstedt of Great Falls, MT, Allan Koehmstedt of Maryville, WA, Albert Koehmstedt of Olga, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Fickert, her parents, sister Marcella Fickert, and brothers Louis, Vernon and Frances.

SERVICES Friday, November 9, 2012, at 1:00 pm at the Brooks Funeral Home Chapel of Langdon, ND. Visitation will start at Noon on Friday.

INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
