Carol “Kaye” Gronhovd, 76, of rural Nekoma, ND passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Harwood, ND, under the care of Hospice.

Carol Loy Sullivan was born August 19, 1936, at Langdon, ND, to Roy and Mae Sullivan. She attended country schools in the Loma area and graduated from high school in Hampden. Kaye and Orland Gronhovd were united in marriage on April 3, 1961 at Calio, ND. They made their home and raised their family on the family farmstead. In their later years, Kaye and Orland enjoyed wintering in Phoenix. Kaye was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was a lifetime member of the Nekoma Booster Club. Kaye collaborated with the Ramsey County Historical Society for the centennial book and also worked on the Nekoma Centennial Book. Kaye was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always willing to run with her kids all over following their sporting events. She was an amazing baker, especially of bread and buns. Orland passed away November 19, 2006.

Carol “Kaye” is survived by her children: Larry (Theresa) Gronhovd of Phoenix, AZ, Sheri (James) Schrock of Harwood, ND, Ronald Gronhovd of Langdon, ND, and Daniel Gronhovd of Langdon, ND; grandchildren: Kirsten, Matthew and Monica Gronhovd of Phoenix AZ, Gretchen Schrock of Harwood, ND, and Alexander Orland Gronhovd of Langdon, ND; siblings: Timothy A. Sullivan of Langdon, ND, Dennis Sullivan of Park River, ND, Pete Sullivan of Grand Forks, ND, Debbie (David) Zeis of Langdon, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orland, her parents, and brother Gene Sullivan.

VISITATION will begin at 4 pm with a 7pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon on Monday, October 8, 2012.

SERVICES will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 2pm, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church of Nekoma, ND with Fr. William McDermott Officiating.

INTERMENT: Highland Cemetery
