Brenda Torkelson

Brenda L. Torkelson, 64, of Bismarck and formerly of Langdon, ND, passed away on August 16, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was born on May 24, 1949 to William and Myrtle (Laken) Klemisch in Langdon, ND. She attended public schools in Langdon. Brenda married Ken Torkelson on July 19, 1969 in Langdon and together they had two children. They moved to Bismarck in 1981 where she was a homemaker and worked hard and had a passion for home improvement projects. Brenda was a very caring and compassionate person with a great sense of humor. She also loved her pets.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ken, of Bismarck, one son, Kevin Torkelson, one daughter, Kelley (Austin) Bitz all of Bismarck; three grandchildren, Kinley, Kasen and Keyan; two brothers, Darrell (Donna) Klemisch, Donald (Margaret) Oakland and one sister, Joyce Skjervheim.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service for Brenda will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel in Langdon, ND.
