Bill "Wilhelm" Anderson, 84, of Cavalier, ND passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at his home in Kingman, AZ. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Pembina County Food Pantry or Faith-In-Action. Arrangements with Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Bill was born February 14, 1929, at Hallson, ND to Wilhelm and Inga (Einarson) Anderson. He grew up in the Hallson area, and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1947. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the service he graduated from North Dakota State University, with a B.S. Degree in Education. Bill then taught school in Harvey, Linton, and the Mandan Industrial School. He then taught in Oregon at the Woodburn Industrial School and as a counselor in Eugene. While in Eugene he received his Masters Degree.
He enjoyed flying, horse training, and writing a column for the Cavalier Chronicle "Take a Break"
On March 17, 1991, he married Carol Kotchman at Hallson, ND. She survives as do his children, Douglas Ray (Debra) Anderson, Camus, WA and Lauri Kay (Brad) Bisson, N. Dighton, MA; grandchildren: Clifford Anderson, Christy Anderson, Danielle Bisson; great grandchildren: Hunter, Sierra, Matthew; sister, Olina "Andy" (Stan) Metelmann, Walhalla, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Lilja Snyder.
