Beverly Behrens Paulson

April 25, 1913 — June 23, 2008

Beverly Behrens Paulson, age 95, of Mountain, ND, passed away June 23, 2008 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. He was born April 25, 1913 on the family farm south of Concrete, ND and Graduated from Cavalier High School in 1931.

Bev served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 1943 - Nov. 1945 as a Motor Machinist’s Mate working primarily on diesel engines. He served on the U.S.S. Montrose. After his discharge he returned to North Dakota where he farmed until his early 90s. He was an avid Republican who loved good conversation as well as a good argument. He enjoyed playing poker, going to auctions, working in his shop, and sharing a pot of coffee with friends. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a charter member of the World War II Memorial, and a member of Elks Lodge #1216 (Devils Lake) and American Legion Post 0011 (Cavalier).

Bev was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (2006); his parents, Joseph Paulson and Cathrine Paulson Frazier; by brothers Joseph, Clem, Lynn, John, and Eugene; by sister Ruth Kippen (2007); and by his grandson, CPT Adam P. Snyder (2007). He is survived by his daughter Fran Frazer, of Ft. Pierce, FL; by stepchildren Sharon (Fidel) Galindo, Carolee Cuffe, and Dale Cuffe of Grand Forks, Richard Cuffe of Olga, Gwen (Ed) Kurtz of Seattle, and Kendall (Jeannie) Cuffe of Kent, WA; by his sister, Marian Hamilton of Scottsdale, AZ; by grandchildren Evan Frazer, Angela Steinolfson, Alison Raheem, Brent Benjaminson, Nicole Tellman, Ashley Benjaminson, and Michael Cuffe.

SERVICES will be held Wednesday July 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Vikur Lutheran Church of Mountain, ND and interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery of Concrete, ND.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Paulson farm (8952 126th Ave NE, Mountain ND 58262) and will be donated to the Mountain Community Center Building Fund.
