Betty Swanson

Betty Swanson age 68 of Belcourt and formerly of Walhalla, ND died on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at the Dunseith Community Nursing Home, Dunseith, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to a charity of donors choice
Elizabeth S. �Betty' Vondal was born May 1, 1937, at Vang, ND to Herb and Mary (Ducioame) Vondal. She attended school in Walhalla.
On November 20, 1956, she married Wally Swanson at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla. They lived on the Swanson farm west of Mountain until the spring of 1967, and moved to Walhalla. Betty worked at the Walhalla Public School, St. Boniface Catholic School, Walhalla Country Club, Walhalla Inn, and was also a farm laborer.
She was a member of the St. Boniface Altar Society. Betty loved to play bingo and cards, and being with her family and friends
Betty is survived by her husband, Wally Swanson, Belcourt, ND, children, Ruby (Jamie) Christinson, Cavalier, ND, Ole (Janet) Swanson, Cheyenne, WY, Violet (Tracy) Goulet, East Grand Forks, MN, eight grandchildren, five great granchildren, sisters, Kathleen (Mitchell) Hagen, Grand Forks, ND, Ruby Jean Ducioame, Jamestown, ND, brother, Richard Vondal, Bismarck, ND, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, son, Gene, brothers, Peter, Edward, Jack, and Floyd Vondal, sisters, Esther Vondal, Ella St. Peters, Stella Mondor, and Irene Cavalier.
