Betty Jane Hart, the daughter of Walter and Etta Mae (Smith) Peabody, was born on August 23, 1923 at Grand Forks, ND. She grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks, MN where she graduated from high school. Betty went to work for Hugo's Grocery Store and then later worked as a long distance telephone operator in Grand Forks.
She was united in marriage to Warren Hart on July 4, 1948 in East Grand Forks, MN. The couple farmed south of Pembina, ND for 42 years until their retirement. After they left the farm they moved to Grand Forks, and then in 2000 moved to Cavalier where they had currently been making their home.
Betty was a member of the Joliette United Methodist Church and a member of the Joliette United Methodist Women.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Warren Hart of Cavalier, ND; her sister: Myrtle Hart of Pembina, ND; other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
