Betty Dahley

Betty Dahley, 83, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo after a brief illness.

Betty was born May 19, 1934, to William and Ethel (Magnus) MacDowall in Langdon, ND. She grew up and went to school in Harvey Township. She worked for room and board for a family in Langdon so she could complete her high school education before moving to Fargo. Betty worked for Modern Electric for 13 years before marrying Harold Dahley in July of 1966. They made their home in New Mexico and Arizona for a short time before returning to Fargo. Harold passed away in 1990.

Betty was a life-long caregiver and cared for many during her lifetime. She was always there to help someone in need. She had a gift of an excellent memory and could remember any important dates. Some of her favorite activities were going to the casino, listening to music, and spending time on her Kindle on Facebook. The greatest joy in Betty’s life was spending time with her granddaughter and was her biggest fan.

Surviving Betty are her daughter, Patty Dahley, of Fargo, ND; granddaughter Seren Dahley of Fargo; sister Gloria (Gerald) Long of Moorhead, MN along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, and siblings: Donald, James, Neil, Earl, David, Vivian, Margaret and Ila.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, with visitation starting one hour prior to service time at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND. Burial will be in the spring at Harvey Centre Cemetery, rural Langdon, ND.
