Betty L. Brown, 81, of Cavalier, ND passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bathgate Presbyterian Church, Bathgate, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the Bruce Cemetery, Neche, ND. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to One Great Hour Of Sharing, Christmas Joy Offering, Prison Fellowship and Church World Services.
Betty was born May 27, 1930, in the Bruce Community near Neche, ND, to Charles and Myrtle (Morrison) Renwick. She attended the Bruce School through the eighth grade and graduated from Cavalier High School. After receiving her teachers certificate from Moorhead State she taught elementary school at Hamilton, ND.
On June 12, 1951, she married Jackson Brown at Bathgate. After their marriage they farmed in the Bathgate area until moving to Cavalier in 1981.
She served as president of the Neche PTA and the Pembina County Republican Women. Betty was also a member of the MIS Study Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include husband, Jackson; children: Rev. Harry (Laurell) Brown, Kenner, LA, Beverly (Bryan) Schulke, Herndon, VA, and Jim (Karen) Brown, Cavalier; grandchildren: Joshua Brown, Jessica Brown Streu, Heather Schulke, Peter Schulke, and Camille Brown Samson; great grandson: Hunter Brown; and sister, Ruth Barney, Grand Forks, ND.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Clergy: Rev. John Werth.
Music: Jan Morrison, Organist.
