Bernice Sillers

Bernice Sillers, 93, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Calvin, ND passed away February 20, 2006 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Bernice Margaret Schneider was born January 19, 1913 at Loma, ND to George and Edna (Urlaub) Schneider. She grew up and attended school at Loma and went on to live and work in Minneapolis. Bernice was united in marriage to Archibald Kipling Sillers on May 31, 1941 at St. Paul, MN. Kip entered the United States Army serving overseas for three years during World War II. During this time Bernice lived in Calvin with her in-laws. Upon Kip’s discharge they made their home in Calvin and farmed. In 1948 they moved to the Home Farm near Calvin and continued to farm until their retirement in 1978. They moved to Langdon in 1988. Kip and Bernice spent winters in Ft. Meyers Florida for 25 years. Bernice was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Munich where she was active in Christian Mothers and she later became a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon where she was active in the Catholic Daughters.

Bernice is survived by her husband Kip of Langdon, children; Archie K. (Rayanne) Sillers of Marshall, MN, Cameron (Joan) Sillers of Langdon, ND, Patricia (Ron) Barta of Langdon, ND, and Mary Beth (Rory) Carda of Sidney, MT, grandchildren; Jason (Elizabeth) Sillers, Laura (Derick) Jungling, Katherine Barta, David Barta, Erin Barta, Stephanie Wilson, Nathan (Tiffany) Sillers, Abby Carda, McKenzie Carda, Maggie Carda, great-grandchildren; Matthew Wilson, Trinity Wilson, Casey Wilson, Kate and Jane Sillers, sister-in-law Irene Brandt of Beothell, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents George and Edna, brothers Raymond, Bernard, John, and Andrew Schneider.

Visitation: 4 to 6pm Thursday at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon

Prayer Service 6pm Thursday evening at 6pm at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES Friday February 24, 2006 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon at 10:00am
