Bernice R. Scholler, 96, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. vigil service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier ND.
Bernice was born September 25, 1916, to Napoleon and Armine (Martel) Lemier. She grew up on a farm in the Neche area, where she attended country school.
On October 3, 1934, she married John Scholler in Neche, ND. After their marriage they farmed in the Bathgate area and later moved to Cavalier. Bernice also worked at J&H Cafĩ, Burkes Bakery, and cleaned homes for area families. John passed away on July 16, 1991.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Mike) Olason and Marvin (Carol) Scholler, all of Cavalier; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Scholler, Cavalier; 12 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Martin, Hamilton, ND and Lionel Lemier, Neche.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; infant son, John and sons, Larry and LaVerne Scholler; sisters, Eva Kelm and Elaine Keenan.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Robert Pecotte; Music: Rene Cashin, Soloist and Larry Collins, Organist; Casket Bearers: Cory Barclay, Doug Olason, Michael Olason, John Edward Scholler, Scott Vogsland, Jim Young.
