Bernice Theresa Dinuson, 90, of Walhalla, ND passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be held Friday, October 4th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Burial will be held in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Bernice was born November 18, 1922 to Leo and Rosetta (Perius) Metzger at Hannah, ND.
On April 19, 1947, she married Orville O. Dinuson in National City, California. After their marriage they moved back to the Svold area to farm. Orville passed away on March 6, 2011.
Bernice was known as the jelly lady. She enjoyed giving people delicious jellies she made. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will surely be missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin (Tim) Olson, Grundy Center, IA; grandchildren: Misty (Ron) Lian, Manchester, TN, Brian Olson, Pelican Rapids, MN, Molly (Bailen) Maloof, Portland OR; great-grandchildren: Noah Olson and Hannah Lian; siblings: Lloyd Metzger, Grand Rapids, MN and Sally Ault, Minot, ND.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Barbara Bailen and sister, Hortense Burdette.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Feltman; Music: Amy Carignan, Cantor and Bernadine Kopf, Accompanist; Casket Bearers: Tracy Ault, Randy Carignan, Floyd Helgoe, Merlyn Dalsted , John Johnson, and Steve Thordarson.
