Bennie Johnson

Bennie Johnson, the son of Skafti W. and Ranka (Olafson) Johnson, Sr., was born on January 26, 1919 at Akra, North Dakota. He was raised in the Akra area and attended school at Eastman country school near his childhood home. Bennie worked in the trucking business during his early years.
He was united in marriage to Kristine "Stina" Johnson on March 23, 1940 in Cavalier, and to this union were born three children. Following his marriage he bought a farm in the Hallson area, and farmed for several years, and eventually moved into Mountain. Bennie also did carpentry work for the Nupdahl's. He also lived in Walhalla before moving to Cavalier in 2005. Bennie loved raising cattle and horses. He also enjoyed flowers and his woodworking.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: "Stina" Johnson of Cavalier, ND; two sons: Eugene (Gladys) Johnson of Edmunds, WA, and Cecil (Gail) Johnson of Cavalier, ND; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother: Roy Johnson of Mayville, ND; other relatives and friends.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Helen (in infancy) and Augusta Austfjord; three brothers: Clarence, Marvin, and Skafti, Jr.; and one son: Dennis Johnson.
