Bazil Johnson, 82, of Mission Texas and formerly of Langdon, ND passed away Saturday August 29, 2009 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.
Bazil Duane Johnson was born June 23, 1927 at Mona, ND to Fred and Elsie (Agar) Johnson. He grew up and was educated in the area. Bazil moved to Beloit, WI were he worked for a winter and also worked in Seattle, WA for a winter. Bazil and Gloria Kartes were united in marriage on June 27, 1950 at Mt. Carmel, ND. Bazil worked for Langdon area farmers before starting his own business, Johnson Construction. After many years in the construction business he began over the road trucking. Bazil loved fishing, especially during the years when the family went way up north for a week for great fishing and family time. For many years they drove their RV to Seattle and up and down the coast. When they retired they began going to Texas in the winters and purchased a home in Mission, TX in 1989. They came home to Langdon in the summer to visit family, and especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren.
Bazil is survived by his wife Gloria, sons: Tyrone (Lanetta) Johnson of Langdon, ND, Glen of Appleton, WI, grandchildren: Damon (Jennifer) Johnson of Park River, ND, Casey (Tonya) Johnson of Fargo, ND, Sara Tetrault of Langdon, Jesse (Christa) Johnson of Fargo, ND, great-grandchildren: Alex, Adam and Tyler Johnson of Park River, Conner, Corissa, and Carter Tetrault of Langdon, ND, Mya Johnson and Katie Johnson of Fargo, ND, sisters-in-law Evelyn Johnson and Doris Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sibling Stewart, Melvin ââ¬ÅClairââ¬Å¥ Judd, and Violet Mack.
VISITATION will take place beginning at 2pm with a 7:30 pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon on Tuesday September 1, 2009.
SERVICES Wednesday September 2, 2009 at 2:00 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
