Barbara R. Ermer

Barbara R. Ermer, 81, of Cavalier, ND passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery.
Barbara Ruth Ellison was born June 29, 1934 to Ruth K. Ellison in LaMoure, ND. She attended school at LaMoure and graduated from high school in 1953. She met and later married Lawrence "Ike" Ermer on July 2, 1955 in LaMoure. Together they had four children. Barb worked as a Nurse's Aide and Physical Therapy Aide at Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier. After Ike retired from teaching they owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store in Cavalier. Barb also worked at the Chuck Wagon Café and Food Pride.
Barb's life was devoted to her family. She created a special bond with her grandchildren that will leave them with a lifetime of memories! Barb loved being in the public and helping people anytime she could. As a resident at Wedgewood Manor for the past year and a half, she never lost her gift for helping people. She had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. During her life, Barb enjoyed entertaining, embroidering, annual fishing trips, gardening, canning, watching movies, State B basketball tournaments, and especially eating chocolate.
She is survived by her children: Lynette, Cavalier, Glenn (Therese), San Antonio, TX, Randy (Lisa) and Denise, all of Cavalier; grandchildren: Luke Ermer (Laura), Zachary Ermer, Blair Ermer (Matthew), Emily Ermer (Jon-Michael), Carmen Ermer (Brandon), great-grandchilden: Kevin Stanhope, Gabriel and Logan Ermer.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Ruth; husband, Lawrence; and several aunts.
