Audrey Puppe

Audrey Puppe, 84, of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center ,Park River, ND. Funeral service on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural St. Thomas, ND. Visitation on Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, St. Thomas, ND.
Audrey Darlene Puppe was born on September 8, 1928, at home in Starkweather, ND to Loren and Bernice (Meyer) Lichtenbarger. She attended and graduated from Starkweather Public School in 1947. She attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND.
Audrey taught school for one year at a school north of St. Thomas& later worked at the Credit Bureau in Grand Forks, ND.
Audrey met Floris through his cousin, Mary Ann Ill, who also attended Aaker's Business School. Audrey & Floris were married on June 24, 1951, at the old Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND. After the birth of their first child, Colleen, they moved back to the family farm. They both shared in the field, yard , and garden work.
Audrey was a member of the Blue Ribbon Homemaker's Club, St. Thomas Senior Center and St. Paul's Lutheran Women.
Floris passed away on March 25, 1995, and Audrey continued to live on the farm until November of 2011. She moved to the Good Samaritan Nursing center in March of 2012.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Floris, sisters, Jackie, Marge & Caroline, three brothers, Claire, Clayton & infant brother Kenneth.
Survivors include her children: Colleen Denault, Craig (Debee) Puppe & Bruce Puppe; grandchildren: Sarah (Brett) Knutson & Richard (Amanda) Denault; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rena Aanstad.

Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist
Casket Bearers: Bradley Aanstad, Brian Aanstad, Herman Barta, Tom Froehler, Shawn Hackworth, and Jim Puppe. Honorary Pallbearers: Richard Denault and Roger Wolff.
