Ashley Kay (Rabbit) Ratzlaff, 14, of Wales, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2014, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND from injuries sustained in a car accident. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Langdon United Methodist Church, Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Langdon High School Gym.
Ashley Kay was born December 13, 1999, at Cando, ND to Steve and Denise (Groseth) Ratzlaff. She grew up in the Wales area and was being educated in Langdon where she was currently a freshman in high school. Ashley participated in volleyball, basketball, golf, and softball. She played the clarinet, and was on the ââ¬ÅAââ¬Å¥ honor roll. She enjoyed horseback riding, figure skating, hunting, fishing and spending time with her family and friends; which was very important to her. She also enjoyed helping out on the family farm. Ashley loved her pets: Cuddles, Aspen, Jayson, Oreo, Cocoa, Brandi, Doc, Jewel, and Shadow. She was baptized and confirmed at the Langdon United Methodist Church.
Ashley was always living life to the fullest and left a smile on everyoneââ¬â¢s hearts! She was a spitfire and told it the way it was. She cared deeply for her entire family and all of her friends. Her favorite color was purple which represents strength, spirituality, and healing. In honor of Ashley please wear something purple if you would like.
She is survived by her parents, Steve and Denise and sister, Krystal, all of Wales, ND; maternal grandmother, Joyce Groseth, Grand Forks, ND; paternal grandmother, Phebe Ratzlaff, Langdon. Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins: Doug (Cathy) Ratzlaff, Stanwood, WA; Erik Ratzlaff, WA; Danny & Annie Puskarcik, Edmonds, WA; Jerry, Nancy, Dustin & Brock Ratzlaff, Devils Lake, ND; Mike, Tara, & Serena Ratzlaff, Lake Bronson, MN; Brenda, David, Jayme Duciaume; Justin, Chloe, Cameron Duciaume; Jayson, Alisha, Miley, & Jaycob Duciaume, all of Devils Lake, ND; Allen & Cindy Groseth Brazoria, TX; Nicholas Hover, Thailand.
Preceding her in death were grandfathers, Robert Groseth and Paul Ratzlaff, who welcomed her into their arms at heavenââ¬â¢s gates.
Overflow seating with video feed will be available on Monday for Ashley's service. Seating will be available at the St. Alphonsus parish hall across the street from the St. Alphonsus Church which is down Main Street, directly south of the United Methodist Church.
