Ardell H. Hartje

Ardell H. Hartje age 83 of Cavalier, ND died on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Friday, April 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Ardell was born July 7, 1924, near Hensel, ND to Alfred and Bertha (Abraham) Hartje. He grew up and attended school in the Hensel area.
On June 16, 1944, he married Meta Stark at Bathgate, ND. They lived in Cavalier, where he worked for REA and then for Aaland-Robbins Farms for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Meta; children, Marlene (Clarence) Boettger, Hamilton, ND, Judy (Carlton) Ill, Cavalier, ND, Joanne (Rodger) Rasmussen, Crystal, ND, Gary (Karin) Hartje, Sioux Falls, SD, Dennis and Scott Hartje, both of Cavalier, ND; daughter-in-law, Gwen Hartje, Cavalier, ND; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; siblings, Lee (Anne) Hartje, Hamilton, ND, Sidney (JoAnn) Hartje and Pearl (Don) Well, all of Bakersfield, CA.
Preceding him in death were his parents, son, Mark, siblings, Harvey, Lloyd, and Hazel Hartje.
