Annie Windt, 92, formerly of Pembina, ND passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at Bethany Homes on University, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Pembina Cemetery.
Annie Kohut was born January 19, 1920 at Sturaburn, Manitoba to John and Mary Kohut.
On Novemer 24, 1938, she married John Windt at Winnipeg, Manitoba. After their marriage they farmed until 1962, when they bought the Pembina Hotel which they ran for several years. Annie also worked at the Tastee Freeze and leather plant. John Windt passed away December 31, 1985. After selling her home she resided in an apartment in south Fargo, to be closer to her children and very much enjoyed her years in Fargo.
She loved working in her vegetable and flower garden. One of her proudest moments was receiving "Yard of the Week" in Pembina.
Survivor include her children: Jerry Windt (Adda Campbell), Pelican Rapids, MN, Dorothy (Del) Davis and Bill (Brenda) Windt, all of Fargo, and Donald (Jolene) Windt, Kokomo, IN; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters: Mary and Doris both of Winnipeg; and brothers: Pete, Maurice, and Walter, all residing in Canada.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; stepmother, Katie Kohut; infant son, William; daughter, Marian Stewart and siblings: Bill and Helen.
Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson.
Casket Bearers: Brad Davis, Bill Stewart, Andy Windt, Brendan Windt, Kenny Windt, and Ryan Young.
Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist.
