Anne Cheatley, 76, of Langdon, ND passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home in Langdon, ND.
Anne Yvonne LeFavor was born July 7, 1935, to William and Maude Anne (Moore) LeFavor in Cavalier County, ND. Anne lived with her grandparents, John R. and Ruby E. Moore, while attending school at Gordon #3, first through eight grade. Her grandmother Ruby E. Moore taught at this school. Anne attended Ellendale College for a secretarial course.
Anne married Robert Bruce Cheatley on December 14, 1957 at Langdon, ND. They lived and farmed in Gordon Township, Cavalier County. They retired from farming and moved to Langdon in 1992. Anne was a very talented woman. She loved to refinish antique furniture and has many of the pieces in their home. Anne was also an excellent seamstress; all her children and grandchildren have had items sewn by her. Anne was a lifelong curler. While on the farm she tended a vegetable and flower garden. After moving to Langdon she had flowers and a small orchard. She particularly enjoyed making jam from the fruit that she grew. She had beautiful flower gardens while living in Langdon, and she received the ââ¬ÅGarden of the Monthââ¬Å¥ award. Anne was a very accomplished painter. She painted in oils and watercolors. These past several winters, Robert and Anne had spent in Pharr, Texas.
Robert and Anne have four children: Lori (Tim) Kreklau, Lisa (Joel) Jacobson, Mark (Val) Cheatley and Nancy (Robb) Becker - all in the Langdon area. They are the proud grandparents of ten: Andrew (Caitlin) and Mitchell Kreklau, Zach (Andrea) along with great-granddaughter Harper, Zane and Jennifer Jacobson, Justin and Rachel Cheatley and Nick, Courtney and Chris Becker. Grandma Anne spent countless hours attending her grandchildrenââ¬â¢s sports and activities. Anne is also survived by a sister, Delores; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bert and Helen Saxlund; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a sister, Frances preceded her in death.
VISITATION will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6 to 8pm at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10:00am at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT - Lebanon Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Altru Hospice or Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.
