Anna P. Horsley

Anna P. Horsley , 87, of Neche, ND passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at her home in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, Neche, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with an 8:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before services. Burial in the Bruce Cemetery, Neche, ND.
Anna Menke was born November 5, 1922, near Neche, ND to Gustav and Minnie (Schuppert) Menke. She spent her early childhood in the Neche area and attended the Riverside School.
On November 1, 1944, she married Garnet Horsley at Neche. From 1968 to 1969 she attended St. Joseph's Hair School. Anna worked as a hairdresser in Neche, along with working with Garnet on the family farm. She especially enjoyed cruising on the golf cart with her grandchildren. Her other interests were quilting, crocheting, making afghans and playing the organ, which she also did at Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Garnet; children, Rebecca (Ralph) Kain, Ashby, MN, Janet Austin, Grand Forks, ND, and Allen (Roxie) Horsley, Neche ND; grandchildren, Michael (Renae) Kain, Melissa (Tony) Varno, Nicole Austin (Brad Sjoberg), Andrew (Amanda) Horsley, and Karla Horsley; great grandchildren, Kylie and Jayden Walthers; sisters, Marie Bekkedahl, Laverne, CA, Dorothy (James) Lembke, Neche, and sister-in-law, Irene Menke, Cavalier, ND.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Brian Austin; son-in-law, Radley Austin; brothers, William, Chris, and Phillip; and sister, Margaret Geres.
