Amy Peterson, 85, of Langdon, ND, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND.
Amy Spenst was born February 1, 1933, in Morden, Manitoba, to Peter ââ¬ÅPeteââ¬Å¥ and Aganetha ââ¬ÅNettieââ¬Å¥ (Frisen) Spenst. When she was one year old, her family moved to Cavalier, ND, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Cavalier High School in 1952. Amy married Marcel Peterson on July 6, 1952, in Langdon, ND. They farmed near Langdon until May of 1996 when Marcel passed away. Amy continued to live on the farm where she enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, crafts, and was on a bowling league for many years.
Amy is survived by her children: Kelly (Karen) of Simi Valley, CA, Kenny (Vickie) of Grand Forks, ND, Keith of Grafton, ND, Kevin of Grafton, ND, and Pamela (Jeff) Hewlett of Orange, CA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; special friend Duane Heck of Langdon; and siblings: Dave Spenst, Vivian Cuffe, and Toni Enerson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marcel; and siblings: Jim Spenst, Bernice Soeby, and Mary Soli.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will start one hour prior to service time at the church on Sunday. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Langdon, ND.
