Allan K. Darling

Allan Darling, 88, of Langdon, ND, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home in Langdon, ND.

Allan Kenneth Darling was born September 1, 1929 in Langdon, ND to Manley and Evelyn (Oke) Darling. He attended school in the Langdon area. Allan entered the US Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged 1953. He returned to Langdon and was a life-long farmer in Harvey Township. Along with farming, Allan also worked many years for Mikkelsen Brothers Construction.

After retiring, Allan moved in to Langdon. He loved to hunt, bowl, fish, and curl. He could often be found cooking at Maida, the Eagles, or the curling club. Allan was a member of Eagles Aerie #3454, American Legion Post 98, Lebanon Lodge #34, and the Langdon Curling Club, for which he was president in 1968-69.

Surviving Allan are his children: Kathie Chaput of East Grand Forks, MN, and Randy (Val) Darling of Langdon; four grandchildren: Jason (Lexi) Chaput, Amanda (Jason) Seykora, Janelle (Jason) Askvig, and Rachael Darling; great-grandchildren: Brecken & Hanlee Seykora and Westin & Gavin Askvig; step-grandchildren Nick & Shayna Wirkus; brother Lee Darling of Beloit, WI; and niece Carla Darling. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Presbyterian Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
