Alice Wyman

Alice S. Wyman was born on May 5, 1927 to Ernest and Anna Stamnes in the village of Buttzville, ND. The family lived on a farm in the area. Alice graduated from Lisbon High School in 1945 and went to Minneapolis, MN to work for the Star Tribune newspaper. She married the love of her life, Earl Wyman, on March 1, 1950. The young couple and son moved in 1952 to Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba where they lived until 1954 and then settled on the Wyman family farm in Pembina, ND where they farmed from 1955 to 1982. Alice also worked at Citizens State Bank in Pembina from 1969 to 1982. She was very active raising their four children, helping on the farm, working at the bank as well as painting, cooking, winning bake offs, compiling cook books, and serving at church and in the community. Those years created many fond memories for Alice. She also enjoyed her retirement years as she and Earl did extensive traveling in their RV and later lived in Winterhaven, Florida until they returned to Pembina in 1999. Alice's last move was to the Pembilier Nursing Center in 2013 where she treasured visits from family and new found friends.
Survivors include her children: Douglas (Diana) Wyman of Bloomington, MN; Laurin Wallace of Minneapolis, MN; Darren (Kerri) Wyman of Lakeville, MN; and Karin (Mike) Ohmann of St. Vincent, MN; eleven grandchildren: Shane, Tim, Caleb (Dana), Elise, Troy, Joseph (Keri), Ben, Ian, Jenna, Emily, and Pierce; two great grandchildren: Abigail and Isaac; brother: Ernest (Pam) Stamnes Jr. of Lisbon, ND; sister: Sylvia Fineberg of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, her parents, and her brothers: Fred and Harry.
Alice Stamnes Wyman, 88, formerly of Pembina, ND, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. A private burial service will be held at a later date in the St. Vincent Cemetery, St. Vincent, MN.
