Alice C. Carignan, age 88, of Cavalier, ND, died on Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Cavalier. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 -7 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Leroy, ND.
Alice was born on September 10, 1920 in Leroy, ND to William and Mary (Bartlette) Martineau. She attended school in LeRoy. She married Charlie Carignan on February 21, 1944 in Leroy. Alice worked as a cook for the Hamilton School District. Charlie died on January 27, 1992. Alice moved into Cavalier in 1985 where she volunteered as a Grandma at Kids Townhouse until 1987. In 2005, she moved into the Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier. She enjoyed her flowers, music and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Sally), Salem OR, Yvette (Roger) Danielson, Salem, OR, Jack (Theresa) of Cavalier, and Terry (Brenda) of Cavalier, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Joseph Lester (Kay) Martineau, Chanhassen, MN.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven sisters, Lena LeTexier, Irene Martineau, Mae Werven Austfjord, Vida Dalzell Patterson, Evelyn Roberts, Isabel LeTexier, Agnes Moulds; and one brother Viator Martineau.
