Alfred B. Slotto

Alfred B. Slotto, age 68, of Cavalier, ND, beloved husband and father was called upon on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, to be with our Lord, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier ,ND. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Alfred B. Slotto was born March 11, 1938, at Fillmore, ND to Ole and Minnie (Hartman) Slotto.
On November 19, 1955, he married Donna Skaro at Grand Forks, ND. They lived in Langdon where he worked for Sturlaugson Oil. In 1974, they moved to Cavalier, and he worked road construction and was now employed by Helgoe Farms.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Peggy (Rob) Yeary, Red Wing, MN; Mike Slotto and Mark (Laura) Slotto, all of Lakota, ND; Patty (Rodger) Helgoe and Mitch (Chris) Slotto, all of Cavalier, ND; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Annabel Erickson, Poulsbo, WA; brothers, Ivan (Sara) Slotto, Reno, NV; Arne (Jean) Slotto, Poulsbo, WA; Frank and Gary Slotto, both of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Irene and Betty, and brothers, Olave, Merlin, Harlan, and Orvin.
Alfred fought a courageous battle against cancer and even though the odds were against him, he never gave up. We will never forget him and all the joy and strength he gave us.
