Alf Pederson

Alf Pederson, 92, of Langdon, ND, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Alf was born October 10, 1918 to Bernhard and Hjordis (Ramstad) Pederson in Moscow Township, Cavalier County. He was raised on the family farm in Moscow Township where the family attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He received his education in Moscow Township in the schoolhouse just north of the family farm. Alf and his brother Ralph farmed grains and raised Registered Hereford Cattle together. Alf farmed his entire life. He helped put the crop in this spring and was very dedicated to his cattle. He was a member of Our Savior’s until it’s closing and then became a member of the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.

Alf is survived by his nieces and nephews: Larry Gellner of Langdon, ND, Bernie Gellner of Phoenix, AZ, Elsie (Bruce) Braaten of Dent, MN, and Cindy Gellner of Burtrum, MN; Great nieces and nephews: Tammy (Jeff) Rowan of Perham, MN, Holly (Kelly) Weiner of Fargo, ND, Joni (Chad) Henderson of Langdon, ND, Karie (Pat) Blake of Langdon, ND, and Kelli Braaten of Colorado Springs, CO; Step-grand nieces and nephews: Jason Braaten of Perham, MN, and Josh Braaten of Minneapolis, MN, great-great nieces and nephews; Adam, Nathan, Paige, Zachary, Brianna, Brennan, Jordan, Will, Carter, Ryan, and Max.

Alf was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph, sister Edi (Leonard) Gellner and Larry’s wife Karen Gellner.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 starting at 4:00 with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND. There will also be visitation for one hour before the time of services at the church on Thursday.

Interment - Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Langdon, in the spring.
