Alex P. Robinson

Alex P. Robinson, 86, of Cavalier, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be held Friday, February 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, ND.
Alex was born March 23, 1925, near Hamilton, ND to Robert and Pearl (Nesbitt) Robinson. He grew up in the Hamilton area where he attended school. Alex served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge from the service he worked on the Frank Mahar farm and at the potato warehouse in Nash, ND. Later he worked for Motor Coach Industries, American Crystal Sugar, farmed on his own in the Hamilton area and worked for the Bill Austin farm near Bathgate until his retirement.
On January 8, 1944, he married Lillian Nordstrom at Hallock, MN. She passed away on December 15, 1991.
Survivors include his children: Betty Nelson, Langdon, ND, Allen (Dorothy) Robinson, Hamilton, and Robert (Rita) Robinson, Cavalier; grandchildren: Rachael, Garrett, Michael, and Chris; Shane and Julie; Mark and Tona; brother, Robert M. Robinson, St. Thomas, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and sisters, Mae and Rose.
Clergy: Rev. John Werth.
Military Rites: Lavern J. Thompson Post #11, Cavalier American Legion.
Honorary Pallbearers: Ron Berg and Dennes Papenfuss.
Casket Bearers: Garrett Nelson, Dale O'Hara, Duane Robinson, Mark Robinson, Ray Robinson, and Shane Robinson.
Music: Sharon Cummings, Organist , Jenny DeMell and Linda Werven, Vocalists.
