Alden J. Brooks, 61, of Hamilton, ND entered into Heaven peacefully Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at his home. Funeral services Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier, ND Visitation on Saturday, October 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cavalier Baptist Church Building Fund, Faith In Action, or the Hamilton Park Committee. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Alden John Brooks was born December 5, 1949, at Grafton, ND to John Henry and Nellie Elizabeth Brooks. He grew up in the Bathgate and Hamilton areas. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War he returned to the area, working carpentry and maintenance jobs. The joy of his life were his children, grandchildren, and family. He had a passion for his Lord and wants to tell all "That God is Good all the time."
On July 17, 1976, he married Kathleen Hollis at Cavalier. She survives as do his children: Tammy Elizabeth Brooks (David Matcha), Hoople, ND, Jennifer (Sean) Kolodji, LaPorte, MN, Heather Brooks, Cavalier, and Travis Brooks, Hamilton; grandchildren: Shanna Ganssle and Marek Kolodji; siblings: Thomas Brooks, Buffalo, MN, Anita Westrup, Bardstown, KY, Sarah Brooks, Walhalla, ND, Ronald Brooks, Winthrop, MN; brothers and sisters in laws: Boyd Peterson, St. Cloud, MN, Michael (Pam) Hollis, Green Cove Springs, FL, John (Ruth) Hollis, Thief River Falls, MN, and Sharon (Mark) Berman, West Hills, CA.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and sister, Betty Peterson.
