Albert W. Stegman age 86 of Walhalla, ND died on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Assembly of God Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Albert W. Stegman was born May 22, 1921, near Neche, ND to William and Beata (Gross) Stegman. He grew up and attended school in the Bathgate area. Albert served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a German interpreter.
On June 10, 1948, he married Jean Gibney at Bathgate, ND. Albert worked at Soeby Motors in Walhalla as a mechanic and ran Al's Wheel Alignment until his retirement. For the past two years Albert and Jean have resided at the Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier.
He is survived by his wife Jean; children, Sharon (Ronald) Gratton, Osnabrock, ND; Ernie Stegman, Walhalla, ND; Rodney (Lynell) Stegman, Grand Forks, ND; Kenny Stegman, Walhalla, ND; Tim (Penny) Stegman, Cavalier, ND; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; siblings, Hilda (Neil) Doten, Kalispel, MT; Freda (Larry) O'Hara, Napavine, WA; Herbert (Carol) Stegman, Drayton, ND; Marie Petroski, Cavalier, ND; brother-in-law, Harold Hayward, Walhalla, ND; sisters-in-law, Victoria Stegman, Chicago, IL; Ruby Stegman, Mountain, ND; Anna Mae Stegman, Bathgate, ND.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis; sisters, Elizabeth Hayward, Gertrude Hughes; and brothers, Walter, Daniel, Fred, and Ernie.
Clergy: Pastor Dann Pageler.
Honorary Pallbearers: All of Albert's Grandchildren.
