Albert LaCoste, 81, of Walhalla, ND went peacefully to the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Satruday, March 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Leroy, ND.
Albert was born December 5, 1932, in Oakwood Township to Louis P. and Mary (Lafreniere) LaCoste. He attended St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood and finished his senior year in Escondido, CA. In 1956, he married Dorothy Suda in Oakwood. He worked for several years farming with Frederick Lessard and in 1959 moved to Leroy, ND to farm on his own and has resided there ever since. Albert served as township supervisor for many years and also on the church and cemetery boards.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; daughters: Elizabeth (Jeff) Grefsheim, Andover, MN and Geraldine (Steven) Wentz, Tempe, AZ; granchildren: Ryan (Susan) Grefsheim, Kirsten (Brent) Simon, Erika, Sean, and Kira Grefsheim, Megan and Adam Wentz; great-granddaughter, Nora Grefsheim; sisters: Elaine Turcotte, Bismarck, ND and Sister Angelita, Grand Rapids, MI.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Clarrise and brother, Adelore.
