Albert "Buddy" Dumas

Albert J. "Buddy" Dumas, 74, of Walhalla, ND passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, May 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Burial will be held in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Albert J. "Buddy" Dumas was born July 22, 1941 at Walhalla, ND to Albert Sr. and Lorene M. (Schwartz) Dumas. He grew up in Walhalla where he attended school. Buddy served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii. After his discharge from the service in 1966, he returned to Walhalla. He worked as a bartender in Walhalla and also worked construction with Gene Letexier and his brother, Robert. Things he enjoyed were gardening and tending his lawn which was his pride and joy.
Survivors include his daughters: Denise (Kevin) Bennett, Belle Fourche, SD, Michelle (Daniel) Horton, Spearfish, SD, Lisa (Larry) Schwindt, Deadwood, SD; grandchildren: Ivy (Josh) O'Neill, Kyle Bennett, Austin (Kaleigh) Bennett; Jessica and Sarah Horton; Chad and Tyler Schwindt; great-grandchildren: Drea, Talia, Maggie, Westley, and Levi; siblings: Larry Dumas, Mountain, ND, Elaine Hale, Othello, WA, Marlene Hugley, Pace, FL, Richard Dumas in Virginia, Lucille Dahl, Little Falls, MN, Marcella O'Hara, St. Thomas, ND, Robert Dumas, Walhalla, ND, Cecelia (Wally) Lafferty and Beverly Edgar, all of Wahalla.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Gilbert and Leo Dumas; twin sister, Dorothy Ferch.
