Herbert L Storie

Herbert L. Storie, 90, of Hensel, ND, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.

Herbert was born February 2, 1929, in Rock, Kansas to Floyd and Nina (Wheeler) Storie. He grew up and attended school in Rock, KS. After school Herb enlisted in the United States Navy. After his discharge from the service he attended Electronics School in Kansas City, MO where he met Norma Green. On May 14, 1950, Herb married Norma in Kansas City. After their marriage, Herb worked for Land-Air throughout the United States. He then went to work for Western Electric at the White Sand Missile Range in New Mexico, Kwajalein Island, and Greensboro, NC. In 1972, Herb and his family moved to Cavalier where he worked at the Par Site. In 1979, Herb moved to Naperville, Il where he worked for Bell Telephone. After his retirement from Bell Telephone, they moved Wichita, KS, where he work for Lear Jet. In 1987, they returned to Hensel, ND, and made their home and served as Mayor of Hensel for eight years.

Some of the things he enjoyed were building and flying model airplanes and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; children: Ron (Anita) Storie, Cavalier, ND; Colleen (Tom) Tuma, Orangeville, Il; and Charles (Karen) Storie, Sachsenheim, Germany; grandchildren: James Storie and Brian (Viktoriia) Storie; great-granddaughter, Sophie Katrina Storie; siblings: Bill Storie, Hazel Clary, John Bulman and Robert Bulman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
